How did each zodiac sign get its name? And what do the names mean?

Some of them are clear and obvious - EG Leo: Lion. Virgo: Virgin.

But what about ones like Gemini, and Aquarius? Why Aquarius when it's an air sign? And Libra is kinda random too.How did each zodiac sign get its name? And what do the names mean?
Interesting question. Ask the Ancient Greeks even though the Egyptians started it and the Babylonian added to it, apparently their all Latin names. And we know that Greeks symbolised them.

Aries means "Ram" in Latin.

Gemini means "Twins" in Latin. It is a constellation named after the twins Castor and Pollux in Greek mythology.

I know the name Aquarius sounds like it has something to do with water. But when you look at the picture, it's normally a person, who is an air-breather carrying water, that's why it's an Air Sign for being a air-breathing symbol.

If you read into Greek mythology, you'll read the stories how they came up with these names.

I've noticed also the Aquarius symbol, firtst comes to mind as 2 watery lines, I've seen one with more relaxed swirly line (Air) swirls on top of the wavy line (Water).

Constellations in the sky for the most part.
